This training is especially important for all students happily registered at Blackfeet Community College and, especially, for those receiving federal funding like the Pell Grant, FSEOG, Work-study, Private Grants, Scholarships, and more! Completing these courses means your funds can be smoothly disbursed, helping you on your educational adventure.

Staying on Track: Your Educational Planner & Advisor!

To help you smoothly navigate your academic journey and ensure everything's aligned for both Financial Aid and Graduation, remember to use your BFCC Educational Two-Year Planner! It's a fantastic tool to keep you headed in the right direction.

Before you register for classes, please make an appointment with your advisor. They're here to help you confirm you're on the perfect path toward graduation.

Once you've discussed your plan, please complete your Educational Planner form. Be sure to get your advisor's and your signature on it, then bring the original form to the Financial Aid office. This simple step helps us ensure your financial aid is processed smoothly!

Getting to Know You: Your Student Intake Form!

Hey there! Our Student Intake Form is a friendly little document that helps us gather some essential info about you – like your address, phone number, and what amazing program of study you're pursuing. It's all about ensuring we have the right details to support you!

The information you share on this form is super helpful. It allows our Financial Aid team to connect you with valuable resources and support networks that can make your journey from BFCC even smoother. We want to ensure you have everything you need as you transition.

Good News: Managing Your Pell Grant Funds!

Did you know you have choices regarding your Pell Grant funds? We want you to feel empowered! You can decline or return Pell Grant money within the current academic year. This is a super helpful option if you want to preserve your eligibility for future enrollment periods.

Here's how it works:

• Declining Undisbursed Funds: If your Pell Grant hasn't been sent out yet, you can easily decline that funding.
• Declining Part or All: You can decline all or just a portion of your Pell Grant award during the current award year.
• Current Year Only: Please remember that you can't decline or return a Pell Grant from a past academic year. This option is for your current year's funds.
• Returning Disbursed Funds: If the funds have already been disbursed to you for the current year, you can return them.

• If you're considered a dependent student, please share both your own information and your parents' information.
• If you're an independent student, you'll focus on reporting your details (and, if you're happily married, your spouse's too!).

Knowing your dependency status is key to accurately filling out the FAFSA® form. To make this determination a breeze, we have a helpful worksheet designed just for you! It will gently guide you through the process.

You might hear about verification, and we assure you it's a normal and helpful step! Verification is our school's process to confirm that the information you've reported on your FAFSA form is accurate. If your application is selected for verification, we might gently ask for additional documents to help us confirm your FAFSA details.

Please know, this doesn't mean you're being accused of anything wrong! It's just a standard procedure to ensure everything is perfect.
